Twins’ solution is just a big mistake

I agree with the Twins signing Joe Crede, but at the same time it could be the worst Twins move in recent memory. The Twins for the past couple of years haven’t had a good third baseman. So I understand how signing Crede, a once-great third baseman, may seem like a solution to a problem.
But this solution could turn into a big mistake. He has had back problems for the last few years. Because of this there is a very real chance he will have more back injuries and this will result in low productivity and a whole in the Twins’ pockets.
The contract he signed wasn’t a huge bank buster. But with the Twins being a small market team it just doesn’t spend money on players that pose a high risk of not playing very much. A handful of players from the Yankees are paid more than the entire Twins team. The Twins need to keep doing what they’ve been doing and using their farm system to find great young healthy talent.
