Lake Mills

Recap: The Bulldogs dominated in their season opener against AGWSR, holding them to zero points while scoring three times themselves to win 20-0.

Senior Landon Price scored on an 82-yard run, followed by a two-yard rush from Carter Christianson and Nash Delger capped off the scoring with a 22 yard reception from Hayden Helgeson.

The Bulldogs cleaned up in the running game, rushing for well over 300 yards. Leading the team was Price and Christianson with 179 yards and 169 yards, respectively. Delger was the only Bulldog to catch a pass in the game, hauling in two receptions for 33 yards. Helgeson was 2/7 through the air for 33 yards.

Lake Mills hopes to keep rolling Friday night when they travel to Central Springs to take on the Panthers.

Albert Lea

Up next: New Ulm at home at 7 p.m. Friday

Recap: The Albert Lea football team lost a heartbreaker on the road against St. Peter to open the season. The Tigers fell after a late field goal put St. Peter over the top for a 15-13 victory.

Scoring for the Tigers was quarterback Teaghan Tolbers connecting with receiver Carter Conn, and Noah Teeter blocking a punt for a score.

Charlie Irvine led the team with 41 yards rushing on 11 carries. Tolbers was 10/16 through the air and threw for 77 yards. Conn was his leading receiver with 45 yards on five catches. Irvine added 20 yards on four catches and Teeter totaled 12 yards on one catch.

Albert Lea will look to put this one behind them and move on to take on New Ulm Friday night at home.

United South Central

Up next: at Randolph, 7 p.m. Friday

Recap: Despite trailing at halftime, United South Central dominated the second half against Mayer Lutheran Friday to win the matchup, 20-8.

Quarterback Kolt Bullerman connected with Nathan Mutschler for one of the Rebel touchdowns, while Bullerman rushed another in and Dylan Bonsack also added a touchdown on the ground.

The Rebels did most of their damage in the rushing game with Bullerman only attempting three passes, completing two of them for 49 yards and a touchdown. Bonsack led the way in rushing with 84 yards on 15 carries. Byron Getchell also had 69 yards on 13 rushes.

United South Central will hope to continue their momentum this week when the travel to Randolph Friday night.

Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons

Northwood-Kensett

Recap: The Vikings opened up their season against a buzzsaw in Janesville last week, falling to the Wildcats 41-6.

Scoring the Vikings lone touchdown of the game was junior Kolton Robinson. Robinsons also rushed for 25 yards on 18 carries. Junior Alex Tiedemann led the way with 35 yards on five carries.

Senior Carter Anderson was 1/5 throwing the ball, gaining 18 yards on the one completion.

Northwood-Kensett hopes to see improvement when they host GTRA Friday night.

NRHEG

Recap: In a game that was delayed by nearly two hours due to weather concerns, the Panthers came out strong but ultimately fell to Randolph, 28-16.

Leading 16-6 at halftime, NRHEG found the endzone twice in the opening half. The first score coming from Owen Bartlett on a pitch and catch from Alden Dobberstein for 71 yards, and the second coming on a five-yard rush from Harbor Cromwell.

Dobberstein was 7/15 on the night with 154 yards and one touchdown. Cromwell led the Panthers in rushing with 42 yards on 12 carries. Dobberstein tallied 31 yards on 10 carries. Bartlett led in receiving with 131 yards on three catches.

NRHEG will try and bounce back Friday when they hit the road to take on Norwood Young America.
