Albert Lea homecoming festivities underway; community invited to parade

Albert Lea homecoming festivities kicked off Friday with a pepfest for Albert Lea High School students with more activities slated all of next week.

Highlights of the week include a parade at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday starting at Central Park, traveling down Marion Ross Street, south on Broadway and then back on William Street. The community is invited to attend and support the students participating.

The coronation will take place on Thursday at the school for students and the families of the homecoming royalty, followed by the powder puff football game Friday afternoon.

Also on Friday will be a Tiger Spirit Festival from 4 to 6 p.m. in the north high school parking lot. There will be carnival games, door prizes and school and community information. Cost to participate is free.

The homecoming football game will round out the night at 7 p.m. against Tri-City United.
