Another hot day is on the way

It could be another scorcher today.
The National Weather Service predicted a high temperature of 100 degrees for Albert Lea. If so, it would break the record of 94 set in 1933.
KIMT forecast a high of 95.
Albert Lea broke a record Monday. The all-time high for June 6 had been 92 in 1952. On Monday, the mercury reached 99 around 4:30 p.m. and stayed there for a little more than an hour.
“It has been a really long time since we’ve had this many 90-degree days this early in June,” said Rod Donavon, meteorologist for the National Weather Service.
The high for Albert Lea reached 90 on Sunday and 88 on Saturday, but many places across the Upper Midwest were in the 90s.
Albert Lea broke a record on Friday, too. The record for June 3 had been 93 in 1934, but on Friday the high reached 95.
Donavon said dew points in the 60s and 70s this week will make for very uncomfortable weather, but it shouldn’t last long. Storms are likely throughout next week and will cool things back to mid-80s and possibly 70s by the end of next week.
Donavon added the super-high humidity adds to the danger of severe storms in eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin. If all the moisture in the air cools quickly, the area could be in for heavy precipitation and even hail. For the next 10 days, the Midwest will enter a stormy weather pattern.
