Ask students about short week

This is in response to “SW schools look into four-day week” in the Friday, Feb. 20, paper. Even though it would help cut costs, I think there are better ways to cut costs. They could cut programs that there are not a lot of people involved in. They could also cut some jobs that aren’t needed as much. Then you have to think of the students. Have you asked any what they think about it? No.
I am against the whole idea of a four-day week. I play three sports and if school went from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., that means practices would be later and less homework time and free time. Especially if you are in a sport where you have to share gym/ice time with other teams and practice would be even later. For games, students would have to get out of school three hours early sometimes which means they lose some education other students get. The extra day would give kids more homework time and free time but during the week would be hectic.
