Lakeview Elementary School first-graders in Tara Stirling's class wave to Principal Zack Kruger Friday morning as Kruger worked from the roof of the school for the day. Kruger promised the students at the school he would work for a day on the roof if they reached their walkathon fundraising goal. The students surpassed it by $1,000. Sarah Stultz/Albert Lea Tribune
Kruger brought out a small table he was able to use as a standup desk while working on the roof. He said in the morning he was dressed up as a Tiger when the students came in to school, and different classes were taking turns coming out to say hi. Kruger said he was taking part in his usual activities, including a Zoom meeting earlier in the day. Kruger likes to do fun activities when students achieve their goals. Last year, he jumped into Fountain Lake in what he described as 40-degree weather when the students achieved their walkathon goal. Sarah Stultz/Albert Lea Tribune
