At Hawthorne Elementary, we are proud to offer a variety of student leadership opportunities that empower our students and positively impact our school community.
- Student council: As the voice of the student body, the Student Council plays a crucial role in shaping our school environment. Council members represent their classmates, collaborate with administration and brainstorm ways to improve the school. They plan events that build school spirit and foster a sense of community, helping all students feel connected and heard.
- Student news team: Our Student news team keeps the school informed about important events and activities. Members hone their communication and leadership skills while delivering news through different platforms like videos, newsletters and announcements. This team ensures that everyone stays engaged with what’s happening in our school, all while sharpening their public speaking and media skills.
- Conflict managers: Maintaining a peaceful school environment is key, and our conflict managers help with that by assisting peers in resolving minor disputes. These students are trained in conflict resolution techniques and play a vital role in promoting fairness, respect and kindness among classmates, making our school a more welcoming space for all.
Each of these leadership roles not only provides essential services to our school but also helps students grow as responsible, communicative and empathetic individuals. These opportunities allow our young leaders to develop skills that will serve them both now and in the future.
