Recap: It was a tough matchup for the Tigers Tuesday night when they took on Luverne in the first round of the Section 3AAA tournament.
Albert Lea struggled on offense, gaining just over 100 total yards of offense in the 41-0 loss.
Teaghen Tolbers started at quarterback and completed six passes on 18 attempts for 49 yards. Frederico Rivera caught four of those passes, amassing 23 yards. Layton Yost and Carter Conn each caught one pass. Yost for 17 yards and Conn for nine yards.
On the ground, three Tigers gained double digit yards including Tolbers, who led with 17 yards, Rivera with 13 and Devin Ray Gonzalez with 11 yards. Charlie Irvine and Breckyn Wacholz combined for 13 yards on 10 carries.
Despite the lopsided final game of the season, the Tigers made strides this season winning multiple games for the first time in a number of seasons and cementing young players as a core for this team next year.

Recap: The Knights continued their impressive win streak Tuesday night when they defeated Heron Lake-Okebana/Fulda in the first round of the Section 3-9 player tournament, 43-0.
This marks the fourth consecutive win for the Knights after starting the season 1-4. During that win streak, Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons has outscored their opponents 204-20.
There were no individual stats available from the game.
The Knights have a tall task in front of them to keep their momentum rolling when they travel to take on unbeaten Hills-Beaver Creek on Saturday.

Recap: In a rematch of a game that saw the Panthers lose by just seven points to the Bulldogs, NRHEG narrowed the margin but still came up short, 25-22 in the section playoffs.
Three different Panthers scored in the game, including a blocked punt that lead to a safety. Ryan Schlaak, Alden Dobberstein and Harbor Cromwell all scored a rushing touchdown on the night. Both Schlaak and Crowell scored from three yards out while Dobberstein scored from 69 yards.
Dobberstein was 5/15 passing throughout the game for 54 yards. Jace Knudson caught three of those passes for 26 yards. Schlaak caught one for 18 yards and Owen Bartlett caught one for 10 yards.
NRHEG executed most of its offense on the ground, gaining more than 200 yards during the game. Dobberstein was the leader with 126 yards on 15 carries, while Schlaak and Cromwell combined for 78 yards on 22 carries.
The loss ends the Panthers season in which they went on a three-game in streak in the middle of the season but were unable to maintain that momentum losing their final four games.
