Dennis Gene Wogen, 75, of Sycamore, Illinois, died Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb.
He was born April 12, 1949, in Minnesota, the son of Stanley and Evelyn (Jenson) Wogen. Dennis Gene Wogen married Margaret Lay on April 24, 1976, in Lily Lake, Illinois.
He was a loving husband, father of 5 children and grandpa. He always put his family and others first. He was known for his dry and witty sense of humor until his last days. He will be loved and missed by all who knew him.
Dennis was a diehard Vikings fan and loved to golf. He owned a landscaping company, delivered papers for the Chicago Tribune and was a book binder at D.B. Hess for 20 years.
He is survived by his five children, Victor Wogen of Lake Villa, Illinois, Christi Wogen of Cleveland, Texas, Doug Wogen of Cape Coral, Florida, Lynnette (Ryker) Johnson of Williston, North Dakota and Seth (Lisa) Wogen of Cape Coral, Florida; 11 grandchildren, Tessa, Paige, Kody, Kayla, Cheyenne, Victoria, Kevin, Jayden, Hadyn, Chase and Mackenzie; 11 great-grandchildren; Sister-in-law Cathy Lay; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his wife Margaret; his parents; brother Dwayne Wogen; two brothers in law, Rick Lay and Larry Lay.
Visitation was from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday October 28, 2024, at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb.
A private graveside service will be held at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb, Illinois with the Rev. Tom Hughes of DeKalb Christian Church officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Wogen Family, in care of Anderson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 605, 2011 South Fourth Street, DeKalb, IL 60115.
