With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the upcoming memorial services for William Joseph Bergeron Jr. A loving father, grandfather, and friend, William passed away peacefully on November 3, 2024, in Albert Lea, MN, at the age of 64, surrounded by his family, after a brief battle with Lung Cancer.

William “Billy” J. Bergeron, Jr.

Born on July 13, 1960, in Leominster, MA, William, affectionately known as Billy, was a dedicated and hardworking individual whose life was filled with courage, compassion, and service to others. His time in the US Army at Fort Bragg, NC, as a 3rd battalion, 4th ADA and 82nd Airborne Division instilled in him a sense of duty and honor that he carried throughout his life. His roles as a contractor in sheet rock, a volunteer firefighter and EMT, and a truck driver exemplified his commitment to hard work and selflessness.

Billy found joy in many hobbies and activities, sharing his passion for the Demo Derby, motorcycle rides, woodworking, Sprint Car Races, and camping with those he loved. He was a proud member of the Albert Lea Clown troop, Low Bucks Car Club, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Known by many endearing nicknames including Wild Bill, Caveman, Pewee, Stringbean, and Wildman, William’s larger-than-life presence and warm personality left a lasting impact on all who crossed his path. His selfless nature, kind heart, and willingness to always put others first will be deeply missed by his children, grandchildren, siblings, and the entire community he touched.

Billy is survived by his father, William Bergeron, Sr.; children, Dawn (Monroe) Warren, Carol Taylor, Cheyenne (SD) Bryant, Corey Lyman (Melanie Schanck), Ava Bergeron, Craig (Michelle) Chamberlin, Valerie Chamberlin, Nicole (Joe) Brewer, Casey Lyman, and Addison Lyman; 20 Grandchildren; siblings, Roger Bergeron, Christine (Gil) Martin, Ronald (Paula) Bergeron, Michael (Kim Smith) Bergeron; ex wives, LuAnn Berg, Donna Bergeron, Angela Haberman; and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeannine Bergeron; father-in-law, Earl “Smitty” Smith; and grandson, Billy Lee Warren.

Funeral services for William Joseph Bergeron Jr will be held at Bonnerup Funeral & Cremation Services in Albert Lea, MN, with public visitation on November 14, 2024, from 4-7 pm. A public gathering will take place on November 15, 2024, at 11:00 am followed by the funeral service at 12pm. Burial will take place at Lakewood Cemetery in Albert Lea, MN immediately after service.
