Continuing a tradition that was started 52 years ago, an ecumenical Thanksgiving Eve service will be held at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1101 S Highway 69, Albert Lea, at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 27.
The first service was held at the United Methodist Church and has continued every year except for 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic canceled the service. This year the rotation moves the service to Ascension Lutheran.
The churches participating this year are Ascension and Salem Lutheran, First Presbyterian, Christ Episcopal and United Methodist. The preacher this year will be the Rev. Gad Maiga, the new pastor from United Methodist.
Those attending are welcome to bring nonperishable items for the Ecumenical Food Pantry at First Presbyterian Church.
The monetary offering will be divided between the Salvation Army and the Ecumenical Food Pantry. All are invited and welcome to attend.
