One person was injured Monday morning after a crash at an intersection in northern Albert Lea.

Destiny Deluna, 28, was reportedly taken by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea with a suspected minor injury, according to police. She was the passenger in a 2020 GMC Sierra, driven by Sidney Hargis, 26, of Kiester.

Police stated Hargis was southbound on Bridge Avenue, approaching Sykes Street, when he reportedly ran the red light and struck a 2022 Chevy Express van driven by Jay Dokken, 53, of Alden that was heading east on Sykes Street.

Hargis was cited for failure to obey a traffic signal.
