North Union hosted Lake Mills, Central Springs and St. Ansgar Thursday night for a Top of Iowa Conference quad.

Lake Mills opened the night by drubbing St. Ansgar, 70-6. The lone team points by the Saints were from a forfeit.

“We had three really nice individual wins within the St. Ansgar dual,” said coach Alex Brandenburg. “We saw a lot of good things during the meet.”

Next up for the Bulldogs was a very good Central Springs team that gave them everything they had. The dual was a wild one, to say the least.

Lake Mills trailed by 11 with only two matches left but were able to secure two pins to end the dual and win, 39-38.

“The Central Springs dual was crazy and had some huge momentum swings,” Brandenburg said, “Our kids pulled through to get the close win.”

The team ended the night with a 66-6 win over host North Union. The Bulldogs had 9 pins in the dual. For the season, the dual record stands at 10-2.
