Drizzle, freezing rain could lead to slick roads

Albert Lea and the surrounding area remain under a winter weather advisory as a mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow are expected to lead to slippery roads today.

According to the National Weather Service, light precipitation moved across Minnesota overnight, initially as a mix of sleet and snow and then transitioning to freezing drizzle.

Mixed precipitation is expected to continue through the day today.

Conditions could lead to slick roads. People are advised to slow down and use caution while traveling.

The Weather Service stated icing amounts are expected to be less than a tenth of an inch, and impacts to power lines and trees are not expected.
