5 things to do this week: Cancer fundraisers, book exchange, daddy-daughter dance

Albert Lea Eagles cancer fundraiser
The Albert Lea Eagles Club FOE 2258 will close off their week-long fundraising event on Saturday with different activities to donate to cancer research. There will be a pulled pork sandwich lunch with chips and beans for $10 starting at 11 a.m. There will also be a bake sale beginning at 9 a.m., jail and bail from noon to 4 p.m., live entertainment by the Flashback Band at 7 p.m. and more.

Book exchange and shopping event
Those looking for new books to read this winter are in luck. The city of Lake Mills will host a free book exchange and shopping event Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. People can bring books to the Lake Mills Chamber Development Corp. office at 203 N. First Ave. during regular business hours or by appointment through Thursday. On Saturday, different Lake Mills businesses will display books where shoppers can peruse and take any they would like for free. Gals gathering in Wells
Ladies are invited to enjoy some local shopping, coffee and socialization from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at The Pink Cup coffee shop in Wells. A variety of businesses will sell products at the event including PermaLinx permanent jewelry, Country Roads floral and gifts and more.

Geneva Cancer Auction
The second half of the 41st annual Geneva’s Cancer Auction will begin at 7 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday. There will be a lot of great items up for auction, as well as a raffle with cash prizes. Proceeds from the event go toward cancer research.

Father-daughter dance
There will be a father-daughter dance benefiting the Habitat for Humanity of Martin and Faribault counties Saturday at the Golden Bubble. Cost is $50 per couple and will begin with dinner at 5 p.m. and dancing beginning at 6 p.m. Call 507-526-2500 to reserve tickets.
