Margaret Mae Rogstad, age 97, of Lake Mills, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at the Lake Mills Care Center.

A memorial service will be at 11:30 AM on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Salem Lutheran Church, 401 S. Lake St. in Lake Mills, Iowa with Mr. Kermit Singelstad officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Salem Lutheran Church.

Inurnment will be in Salem Memorial Cemetery next to her husband Arlo.

Margaret Mae (Wynia) Rogstad was born on February 18, 1927, to parents Edward and Lucy (DeRaad) Wynia in Ireton, Iowa.

On September 25, 1947, Margaret was united in marriage with Arlo Rogstad in Hollandale, Minnesota, and they were blessed with six children: Geraldine, Luann, Roger, Diane, Karen and Sheryl. In March of 1948, they moved to the Rogstad Farm, where they farmed for over 50 years.

Margaret was a proud farm wife and homemaker, but she also worked at Deluxe Products in Lake Mills, and many people remember her smiling face from working at Infelt’s Variety Store for countless years. In her free time, she and Arlo enjoyed fishing in Northern Minnesota and Canada. Margaret was a gardener, baker (especially buns and chocolate chip cookies), and was a very talented quilter. She lovingly handcrafted a quilt for each of her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include her children Geraldine (D.J.) Carpenter, Roger (Linda) Rogstad, Diane (Randy) Peck, Karen (Bill) Humphrey, and Sheryl (Kenny) Monson; son-in-law, Steve Driscoll; 20 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law John VanderStoope; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Lucy; husband Arlo in 2021; daughter Luann; daughter-in-law Wanda Rogstad; three sisters Dorothy Groeneweg, Laura Browers and Elsie VanderStoope; and two brothers-in-law Joe Groeneweg and Henry Browers.
