A St. Peter man pleaded guilty Thursday in Freeborn County District Court to gross misdemeanor indecent exposure in the presence of a minor under 16 in July at the park at Sibley Elementary School.

Mauricio Gutierrez Espana, 29, formerly of Albert Lea, initially faced three counts of the charge, but the other two counts were dismissed as part of the plea.

Espana was arrested after police received a report of a man exposing his genitals at the park. The reporting adult had been approached by two juveniles, ages 12 and 13, who reported that the man had exposed and was touching himself.

Sentencing is slated for March 28.
