ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE COUNTY BOARD
January 15th, 2025

The Board of Commissioners of Freeborn County met in the Freeborn County Boardroom at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 15th, 2025. Members present: Commissioners Severson, Edwin, Kaasa, Shoff and Eckstrom. The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance. Commissioner Eckstrom offered the following motion; MOVED, approving the agenda as presented. Motion seconded by Commissioner Kaasa. After discussion, a vote was taken and the Chair declared the motion approved. The County Board conducted interviews with Melanie Aeschliman and David Steirnagle from approximately 10:00 a.m. to 11:42 p.m. Commissioner Eckstrom offered the following motion: MOVED, to enter into closed session under Minnesota Statute § 13D.03 to discuss the interviews. Motion seconded by Commissioner Severson. After discussion, a vote was taken and the Chair declared the motion approved. At approximately 12:40 p.m. the Board reconvened. Commissioner Kaasa offered the following resolution: To offer the position of County Administrator to Melanie Aeschliman upon approval of a contract negotiation regarding compensation and benefits. Resolution seconded by Commissioner Severson. After discussion, a vote was taken with Commissioners Severson, Kaasa, Edwin and Eckstrom voting yay, and Commissioner Shoff voting nay, the Chair declared the resolution adopted.
