Schwartz, at 105 pounds, earned a bye into the quarterfinal match where she defeated Taelyn Bass from New Hampton Turkey Valley in a quick first period pinfall. Her semifinal match went a little longer, as Schwartz picked up the pinfall win in the third period over Crestwood’s Kara Kennedy. She then capped off the day with her fastest win of the day, pinning Kylie Belinsky in just 36 seconds to take first place in the bracket.

Stene, in her 115 pound bracket, also earned a bye into the quarterfinals where she also won by pinfall in the first period, defeating Charles City’s Tegan Cavanaugh. The pinfalls kept rolling for the Bulldogs with Stene picking up another in the semifinal round, beating Ellie Adams from Decorah in the second round.

In the championship match, Stene fell in a 10-3 decision to Cameryn Judisch out of Sumner Fredericksburg. Wrestling back in the consolation match for second place, Stene got back to her winning ways, defeating Isla Schemmel of Crestwood in a second period fall.

For the Vikings, Ausborn received a bye into the second round before proceeding to dominate the competition with four-straight pinfall victories to take first place at 125 pounds.

Her run started with a second-period fall over Keylyee Collins from Eagle Grove in the second round, followed by a third-period fall in the quarterfinals against Decorah’s Simone Downing, then a first-period fall against Karlee Henry of Crestwood in the semis, finally with a second-period championship pinfall against MFL MarMac’s Mackenzie Bachman.
