Here are highlights in history for June 9, gleaned from the files of the Albert Lea Tribune:
1991 — The business owners in Albert Lea’s central shopping district and the City Council were disagreeing over who should pay for the public restrooms located in the Art Center building.
1981 — Marion Ross would be coming back to Albert Lea on the weekend to serve as the guest of honor and grand marshal for the Albert Lea Days parade.
1971 — St. Theodore’s Elementary School ceased operations. (This school reopened in 1995.)
