Albert Lea Parks and Recreation is hosting a winter carnival on Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. at Academy Park. Activites include face painting, crafts, sledding, skating snow volleyball, snow sculpture contests and cardboard sled races. Hot food, drinks and snacks will be available for purchase.

For the cardboard sled race, sleds must be made out of cardboard, tape and paint only. Parents may help build sleds. Sleds may not have plastic wrap, wood or other bottom surface material or runners.

The snow sculpture contest judging will be at 3 p.m.
