Two people arrested for drugs

Police arrested a 41-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man over the weekend for illegal drug sales on separate occasions.

According to a news release, officers arrested the 41-year-old woman on Saturday on West Front Street for selling marijuana to a drug task force informant on two separate occasions. The woman will be charged with two fifth-degree sales of marijuana.

Officers arrested the man on West College Street, according to the release. He will be charged with five sales of cocaine totaling more than 11 grams. He will also be charged with one count of sale of marijuana. He sold the cocaine and marijuana to a drug task force informant, the release stated. He will be charged with first-degree sale of cocaine and fifth-degree sale of marijuana.

Both cases are part of an ongoing investigation involving people selling illegal drugs. Both people were expected to appear in court Monday.

Ice house broken into

An ice fishing house was reported broken into on Albert Lea Lake at 10 a.m. Monday, according to Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office reports.
