2 women injured in crashes

A 71-year-old woman was injured Monday after a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of U.S. Highway 69 and West Main Street in Albert Lea. According to police, Edwin Plantage Sr., 83, was turning northbound onto Highway 13 from West Main Street when he collided with Helen Joann Leidal, 71, who was driving westbound on West Main Street.
Leidal was slightly injured and was transported by ambulance to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea.
A 56-year-old Albert Lea woman was injured after her vehicle was rear-ended by another at 6:21 p.m. Monday on Bridge Avenue near the intersection with Katherine Street.
According to police, Carli Marticia Walbert, 56, was stopped southbound on Bridge Avenue attempting to turn left on to Katherine Street when she was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by Lathen Michael Good, 19, of Albert Lea. Walbert was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea.
