Outrage exists over alleged elder abuse

I read your paper daily as I have family that live in Albert Lea. I have written you several times but never with the disgust I feel over the sickening story of those young women allegedly abusing the residents of the rest home. The quote that put me over the edge today is Mr. Dwaine Winkels saying this has prompted a “witch hunt.” Who is he a friend of? And don’t I remember reading the mother of one of these monsters works (or worked) at the home. (A little nepotism?) I was disgusted when the story broke with the pictures that were chosen for the artice. These alleged perpetrators looked like you all-American young women.

I feel certain their mug shots were not as flattering at the touched-up high school graduation pictures. As for the restaurant article, if I had to put my money on it, I would bet the girl was out with her friends. It seems to me like the town (at least those in charge) is not taking this seriously (the low bail, the witch-hunt quote, and, if I remember correctly, the lawyer for one of them being a family friend or relative). These people are sicking and my thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims.

When this is all said and done — if they are proven guilty — I hope they are jailed forever with no chance of having children of their own. Imagine what their offspring would be like. As I reread this, I am surprised at the outrage I feel. At the women as well as how I feel from following in the paper the treatment they are getting. Are these people somebody special? Do they have conections your average person does not have? I hope this sorts out fairly. I will continue to follow the story online. Thank you for the chance to verbalize
