Parkview Care Center — part of Albert Lea Medical Center — was recently awarded a five-star ranking by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
“We are pleased to be recognized at this level,” says Jerry Ehn, Parkview Care Center Administrator. “It reflects the level of service we provide our residents.”
CMS’ ranking system of America’s nursing homes is designed to provide an easy to understand assessment of nursing home quality, allowing patients and their families to make meaningful distinctions between high performing and low performing homes.
Nursing homes were ranked in four areas: survey inspections, quality measure outcomes, staffing, and an overall rating using the results of the previous three areas. One star means much below average and five stars mean much above average. These rankings can be found on the agency’s Nursing Homes Compare Web site, www.medicare.gov/NHcompare/
Parkview ranked five out of five stars for overall rating, three out of five stars for survey inspections, four out of five stars for staffing, and five out of five stars for quality measure outcomes.
