1991 — A Tribune article by Sports Editor Jim Lutgens featured Chad Bohonek, an Albert Lea High School track and football star who would be attending Augustana College in Sioux Falls, S.D., in the fall.

1981 — Scott Milson, a journalist from the staff of the Morning Herald of Sydney, Australia, was in Albert Lea as part of a 20-day visit to the U.S.

1951 — The Albert Lea Legion baseball team manger was Stan Sevaldson who later became the city’s postmaster.
