Two people were arrested Wednesday night for methamphetamine possession after dispatchers tracked a 911 call to the Countryside Inn, 2101 E. Main St.
Joshua Dean Lee, 28, was arrested for second-degree meth possession, and Shelby Renae Lambert, 18, was arrested for fifth-degree meth possession.
According to police, dispatchers received the 911 call at about 9:17 p.m. They could hear crying in the background, but no one was speaking. Dispatchers traced the cell phone call to the motel through the Global Positioning System.
Police stated they initially thought they were responding to a domestic situation, but when officers were in route there, dispatchers continued listening to the conversation on the line and heard people talking about drug sales and different quantities of methamphetamine.
When police arrived at the motel they found two vehicles in the back of the motel where the call was traced to.
Officers spoke to the people near the vehicles, and when they looked inside could see a marijuana dugout on the floor. They subsequently found methamphetamine in both vehicles.
Lee and Lambert were taken into custody.
