Editorial: Utah football gets ripped off

No. 1-ranked Florida defeated No. 2 Oklahoma in a sloppy BCS championship game for a 24-14 victory.
The college football world proclaims Florida the national champion.
Humbug.
Utah is undefeated. Utah whipped No. 4 Alabama in the Sugar Bowl. Utah should be national champion or at least be co-national champion.
The amalgamation of bigwigs who run college football need to put the fans first and get a playoff system going. It’s ridiculous that an undefeated team does not claim a share of the championship all because of the conference the team plays in.
The teams in the inland west are getting stronger, and there will come a time when the six major football conferences will need to recognize that shift. How better than to implement an eight-team playoff system that incorporates the bowl games within it?
Like this: You win the Cotton Bowl, you move on to the Sugar Bowl.
College football would get its money. In fact, it would make more money.
And make more sense to the fans of college football.
