Albert Lea firemen and police officers responded at 4:33 p.m. Monday to a report of a possible truck fire at Freeborn Lumber Co., 971 W. Plaza St.

According to a fire department spokesman, the starter on a truck overheated and caused smoke to emerge from the vehicle. There was no damage to the firm’s new building and minor losses were listed for the truck.

Freeborn Lumber Co., which had been in Freeborn since 1912, sustained major fire damages to the east side portion of the firm’s buildings on Sept. 7, 2007. This resulted in the firm moving to its new Albert Lea location on Plaza Street this past summer.
