HASTINGS (AP) — A former Burnsville scoutmaster has been sentenced to 21 years for sexually abusing Boy Scouts in his troop.

A jury convicted 46-year-old Peter Stibal II in May of sexually assaulting an Eagle Scout. On Friday, Stibal pleaded guilty to molesting three other Scouts.

Stibal was sentenced to 21 years, with nearly 15 years in prison.

He will then be on release and has to register as a predatory sex offender.

The assaults happened between 2003 and 2008. The youngest victim was 11 when his abuse began.

Stibal had agreed to an Alford plea, in which he maintains his innocence but agrees there was a high likelihood he’d be found guilty in upcoming trials.
