Seven people were injured Sunday morning after a three-vehicle crash on Freeborn County Road 46 near the southbound off ramp of Exit 11 for Interstate 35. None of the injuries were serious.
According to police, dispatchers received several 911 calls just before 8:30 a.m. Sunday.
Two Mayo One helicopters responded, along with other ambulance crews from Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea, but no one was ultimately transported by helicopter to Rochester hospitals.
Only one person stayed in the hospital overnight.
According to the preliminary investigation, a 2000 Dodge truck driven by Joseph J. Pronschinske, 52, of Arcadia, Wis., had exited I-35 at Exit 11.
The trucker reportedly pulled out across County 46 to turn eastbound, failing to yield to two westbound vehicles.
The truck was struck by a 2010 Honda CR-V, driven by Jeremy Michael Nelson, 36, of Hayward and a 2007 Dodge Caravan driven by Kim Marie Otten, 48, of Hayward.
All three drivers were treated for injuries and released.
Also receiving injuries were Pronschinske’s passengers: Laura Lynn Pronschinske, 48, Tiffany Pronschinske, 10, and Wendy Pronschinske, 9. All were treated and released except for Laura Lynn Pronschinske, who stayed in the hospital overnight.
Nelson’s passenger, Brenda Mae Nelson, 36, was also treated for injuries and released.
