Maurices names new manager

Maurices, a national specialty store for savvy, fashion-conscious customers with a 20-something attitude, has named Elizabeth Ptacek as store manager. Ptacek is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the store, including sales performance, visual presentation, and personnel recruitment and training.

Riverland receives award for facilities management
The Riverland Community College facilities department earned an Excellence in Facilities Management award for the sixth consecutive year from Minnesota State Colleges and Universities. The award, which recognizes excellence facilities management leadership and teamwork at the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, was presented recently at the system&8217;s Chief Financial and Facilities Officers meeting in Minneapolis.
The awards program publicly recognizes the outstanding contributions of the system&8217;s college and university employees who work in finance and facilities management. Award winners were selected from nominations made by presidents and college and university leadership.
Excellence in Facilities Management 2007 awards were given for successful and timely completion of capital improvement and repair projects, increased efficiency and effectiveness of space use throughout the institution and customer service excellence to students, staff and faculty. This year&8217;s winners are Dakota County Technical College; Minnesota State University, Mankato; Minnesota State University Moorhead; Riverland Community College; Saint Paul College and St. Cloud Technical College.
